Rambling and film thoughts- may be a tad spoilery.
Whilst celebrating my birthday and happy lounging around our hotel room, my good friend suggested we watched a little wrestling. It has been a good seven years or so since i last saw any and even then it was only a few matches. It's drifted in and out of my life for a long time, at some points being so popular it was almost impossible to avoid.
We watched and then suddenly KANE. He had passed me by, but my friend has loved/been terrified of him in equal measures for a very long time. It's been amazing catching up on his story lines, matches, the DRAMA is delightful.

Then we find out he's been in a horror film- yay! We find it- sit and watch 'See No Evil'...and can't help being a little disappointed with a lot of aspects. Not with him, i might add. He was really very good- silent, menacing and fascinating to watch. The sets were lovely- a rotting old luxury hotel full of corridors and faded glory. The interactions between Jacob and Kira are by far the best part for me- his reverence to her tattoos, the contrast between his treatment of others and her. So much more to say, but i plan to do a picture dedicated to them, so i can talk more on that there

This is a warm up- it's heavily referenced from a photo taken at the launch of the film.Part digital, with the texture created on a printed out copy of the image and worked into with markers, watercolour and gouache. There’s been detail lost, like lots of little eyes down the right side, but apart from that I’m quite pleased. He has a really interesting face and I'd love to draw something Kane inspired and demontastic in mirror of this.

In complete contast- i've been drawing alot of this recently. Everyones got a naughty portrait, just have to ask of it's ok to post them here :D

Yay cocktails!

Yesterday was fruity mysterious drinks day- a place called Giraffe in Bury has 'Bar Buddy' (haha) offer- marked cocktails half price! We made very good use of this. My aim was simple- to find the most Pickle's-tastic one- and i got it first time :D Some kind of punch.
My friends had a giant leaf of some description- it wasn't nomable however.

Anyway- on getting home i was set a challange- to practice anatomy with a selected piece of stock everyday. I wasn't completely sober at this point- looked at it again this morning and want to cry. But a little corner Nathan happened and that i'm ok with.

 Amber Sweet to the stage! WIP for her art-card. Been a little uncertain about painting recently but have to get back in there!

 And a little section on a redesign for a friend- just making her character sheet now. SO MUCH HAIR o_o

I have another assigned naked man to draw so no more drinks.

Mag and Explosion..not together though- what a weird crossover :P

Hello! Thank you to the people that added me- it's a good incentive to kick my butt into gear and keep working :D
One more piece for the Repo collection. I fell in love the minute i saw Mag- such a tragic story and amazing presence/ voice. This is my little homage based on the 'Chromaggia' scene- those contacts combined with giant lashes much have been so uncomforable :(

And more Nathans. Saw a fantastic photo gallery on DA of big metal-band men throwing their hair around and looking hot. It was very inspiring *saves gallery*
This came from that- he has such presence on stage and i hoped to show some of that. RAWRRR.
A few little things i'm not happy with but never mind. I hope to give the other boys some mini picture love soon :D

More Nathans

As mentioned earlier- my flatmate and bestest buddy has introduced me to the delights of Dethklok/ Metalocalyse. The music is playing all the time, quotes come thick and fast and i think we may be driving my boyfriend insane :D

Soo it has caused doodling- mostly a piece closely based on an (im)famous photo-shoot of a very handsome rock god in Playgirl.

And silly stuff.

Graverobber

Fanart time! A piece for a friends upcoming project. I loves me some Repo- especially Graverobber so thought he was a good place to start. It's A5 size, inks, watercolour ands gouache.

Next up- Blind Mag :D

My new baby- a Souldoll Kyle. I'll paint him when i'm feeling up to the mammoth task- i'm going to enjoy him in one piece for a little while longer!

Working hard to get this piece finished! The transfering has been done, inking underway. Based on a Japanese fashion and it's sub-catagories. Such a lovely look :D

Love Thief and Wolfeyes

My darling little Shuttle computer has kicked the bucket- i haven't been sketching much whilst worring that i've lost all of my past work. Honestly- i feel pretty bad right now, and hoping some posting will help lift it.

So- cat-like snuggles. I love tentacles and felines- combinations of the two even more so.

 And this came up as an idea- what would a woman look like with wolf eyes and fur?
Answer- unnerving.

The product of listening to 'Tarantula' by Pendulum a few times- not what i had in mind, but something i'd love to develop into a finished piece at some point.

Gargoyle

I've been exercising too hard, and am stuck on my computer chair *sadface*
I wanted to post something i enjoyed and have wanted to draw for years. He took months of faffing and planning, one messed up version, innumerable changes and looks of painting- but i'm happy. And that's rare.

Repo! :D

I have two very good friends to thank for introducing me to Repo! The Genetic Opera. It's a stunning and sadly over-looked film (except by it's loyal and determined fans) and the household is on a bit of a kick right now.
I'm completely in love, and trying to spread the word - it's also lead to a few doodlings.

Mr. Graverobber- getting back into drawing people is challenging but that smile helps. Slowly working on this.

A repo inspired sketch next- like the Graverobber's annoying brother he doesn't talk about..plus cat. Everything's better with cats.
Heavily referenced from a great bit of DA stock- will add link when i find him.

Inevitably the conversation has come round to- if you where in  *insert fantasy world here* what/who would you be?  There are a few fantastic Repo! memes going around on DA, but time after time i see people drawing themselves as sexy, with amazing new bodily additions, with the main characters instantly fall head over heels in love with them and skipping off into the sunset. If that makes you happy, all power to you- but would it be really like that?
Nope. We came to the conclusion that if we weren't dead already- we'd be barking mad, covered in mud and cackling at this cruel new world-

Ball Jointed Joy

This is Milk- my little ball jointed doll.
He is the best gift i have ever received and i am so very grateful- not only because he is a delight to make tiny clothes for, paint and interact with- but also because he has introduced me to a whole new group of lovely people. I have have been in such a rut for so long- with art and life in general. This new hobby is crazy and expensive but so much fun. Nothing quite like a big group of like-minded individuals all cooing over each others pretties.

Bargeist

Thought a new start was in order- both artistically and as to where images are posted.
A good friend bought me a lovely leather bound notebook which i  plan to fill over the coming year.
Firstly a big hairy beasty- a good place to begin. Inspired by stories of big black dogs out on the moors that scared the life out of me as a child. An overly active imagination and too much reading of such stories caused a very jumpy (often fleeing in terror from empty classrooms) child.
Never mind- i can appreciated them now.
